When I was in the seminary college, we had an assignment in one of our required philosophy courses. That course, simply called “Man” (later called “The Human Person”), asked us to write our own philosophy of life. Part of the assignment was to spend time — real, lengthy time — simply “thinking.”  In the age before computers, mobile phones, and our abundance of distracting technology, this was probably a bit easier in the early 1980s than it might be today!

As I came to write my own, brief philosophy of what  it means to be human, what percolated to the top was an understanding of myself and all humanity as created good, as created in the image and likeness of the divine. This blog is simply my occasional postings surrounding this fundamental perspective of how I see — or try to see — others, myself, and this world in which we live.
